*A little clarity on the Gordon Artists’ Showcase event. This event is happening instead of of the Gordon Art Exhibition which is usually held in the Inverurie Town Hall on these dates. The change is due to a number of factors such as funding. It is proposed that the Exhibition will take place in a similar format to previous Gordon Art Exhibitions in 2019. Please support the new Showcase Event which will in turn support future exhibitions.

Gordon Art Exhibition

The Gordon Art Exhibition is now past its first 25 years, being held annually at Inverurie Town Hall. Seldom has it had fewer than 200 exhibits, which include watercolours and many other media, stained-glass works, photographs, textiles and jewellery. Sometimes there is a theme for one of the major sections (e.g. war and peace), and a separate section with its own prizes for artists under 16.  Generous support from local organizations and businesses allow us to offer a number of other prizes. Over the period of the exhibition, there is a steady stream of visitors who can buy many of the pictures and other art work, including  un-framed ones (not catalogued).  Entry fees are kept as low as possible and a small commission of sales goes to the funds to help sustain the exhibition.
